Theodore J. Harvatin (Ted) was raised near Springfield, Illinois. His parents come from coal mine country in Southern Illinois, where his grandfather was a miner.

Ted attended Galesburg, Illinois' Knox College and earned degrees (business administration/economics double major) with high honors (Cum Laude). Ted was selected by faculty to become a member of the esteemed academic society, Phi Beta Kappa.

Ted is a graduate of University of Illinois College of Law. In addition, Mensa International, a select group of the brightest 2% of people in the world, accepted Ted as a member.

Ted started to practice law in 1981 in Springfield. His family background, combined with his intellectual accomplishments, help him to better understand his clients' legal matters.

Ted is active member of the Illinois State Bar Association. Ted can be seen bicycle riding the roads of Springfield and he and his son, Alex, enjoy a love of cars.
